My twin girls are almost a year old now. They are getting to that point where they’re outgrowing the ‘baby’ toys, but not yet ready to play with some of the more advanced toddler toys. I’ve been looking for some toys that will help bridge that transition in play, but yet provide fun and interaction. The Count ‘n Roll Buggie from Bright Starts is just what I was looking for. It’s a fun & engaging learning toy. My twin girls really love this toy..and as you can see from the video, so does my three year old son!
The Count ‘n Roll Buggie works when your toddler fills the bug with the balls (it even counts – love that!). The bug then travels around the room singing counting songs – all the while the balls are spinning beneath the bug’s wings. If it hits an obstacle, it spins around and goes the other way and finally ends with the wings opening up and all the balls popping out. We did use our toy on the hardwood floor and the toy works really well on this type of flooring. It seems that a harder floor surface is best-suited to this toy as it did not work well on our carpets.
What I love most is that the toy promotes counting and learning, as well as the development of motor skills. It really holds my girls’ attention and they really enjoy playing with it together. Seeing how my three year old enjoys playing with them, I know that the toy will grow with the girls as they get a bit older.
