I recently set out to shop for Back to School clothes at Cookie’s Kids online store. I had heard of Cookie’s Kids before but had never shopped with them, online or in their NYC stores. After browsing the site, I was immediately hooked! The prices are great and there is just SO much inventory!
About Cookie’s Kids
In 1972, a young man named Cookie and his brother Marvin went into business together. They rented a 1600 square foot store in Jamaica, Queens, fixed it up, bought inventory and Summer and Fall, and opened a day after Thanksgiving with a full stock of holiday toys. The toys were a success and they put the extra money toward buying children’s clothing for the next season. The business was on it’s way. As the brothers Cookie, Marvin and Sonny, who had come in as a third partner in the business, began toopen new stores in new locations, inventory expanded. Besides the latest fashions, our customers wanted shoes, toys, backpacks and accessories and they were prepared to deliver.By the late 1990′s there were six superstores throughout the NYC area. In the late ’90s school uniforms became an important addition to Cookie’s Kids’ inventory! It was the steady success in uniform sales that paved the way for founding CookiesKids.com in 2007, which originally sold uniforms and soon after the entire Cookie’s Kids Inventory.
While the inventory is large, CookiesKids.com is organized very well into departments and categories, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. There is a lot of inventory, so my shopping experience did take me a while! I was loving the great prices, designer and name-brand clothing and availability in sizing.
Since I was shopping for winter wardrobe items, I really needed to think about what my twin girls and son might need and what they were lacking in their closets for the colder months. Dressing babies for the winter can be a challenge, so I wanted to find some versatile sweaters for them that I could have them wear over leggings and an undershirt. I loved the Blue Heart “Erin” Long Cut Cardigan. So cute. I got them in two colors and I know that the girls will look adorable in them.
My son is difficult to shop for, currently, as he is in between sizes. Size 4T is too long and too big and size 3T is really beginning to get too tight. It’s an awkward place. So, I decided to look for some winter sleepwear as it doesn’t matter if those are a bit bigger as he’s only wearing them to bed. His room get really chilly at night since it’s over the garage, so good quality, warm pajamas are important. I found these Carter’s “Tanks All Around” 2 piece pajamas at a great price! I know getting dressed for bed will be a little bit more fun with these!
